In the West Midlands, about 80 hospital admissions related to acquired brain injuries (ABI) happen per day. The total ABI admission from 2023-2024 was 29,316, a staggering number that somehow still does not fully capture the struggles and isolation that survivors go through.
The isolation that ABI survivors feel stems from ABI being a hidden disability. You won’t always notice the symptoms and struggles related to it.
Donating to Headway Shropshire, a brain injury charity, also means helping these survivors not feel alone.
