Newly revamped in 2026, our Headway Hub in Shrewsbury is where you can find the perfect blend of expert support tailored to you, a safe place where you can rebuild your confidence and rediscover what you can do – and a group of people you can have a properly good time with.
Opening Hours
- Brain injury support: Monday, Wednesday, Friday – 9:30am to 3:30pm
- Neurological support: Tuesday, Thursday – 9:30am to 3:30pm

What’s there?
Set over two floors, our purpose-built centre is now more welcoming, accessible and, well, beautiful than ever.
Every inch is adapted to support people with complex or sensory needs, and you’re free to do whatever takes you fancy, at your own pace.
Some of our favourite parts are:
- A giant kitchen with plenty of wheelchair accessible spots, where you can learn to rustle up a new favourite recipe with guidance from our support staff.
- The arts and music room for creative art therapy sessions and more.
- An inviting space for just hanging out and having a good chat (no lumpy old chairs here).
- Giant windows that give more natural light than you can shake a greenhouse at.
- A garden and outdoor space with beautiful trees, accessible raised beds, and plenty of places to sit and relax.
Who can visit?
Everyone is welcome, as long as you’re over 18 and currently living with:
- Traumatic brain injury (TBI)
- Acquired brain injury (ABI) (e.g. stroke, trauma, tumour)
- Neurological conditions (e.g. Parkinson’s, MS, dementia)
Your situation is unique to you, so once you request a referral and we’ve popped by for our assessment, you’ll get a plan personalised to your needs, funding, and goals. If the Headway Hub is on your plan, you’ll get sent a welcome pack with all the information you need.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who can attend the Headway Hub?
The Centre is for adults aged 18 and over who are living with a brain injury or other neurological condition. This includes people with stroke, trauma, dementia, Parkinson’s, MS, and more. If you’re unsure whether the service is right for you, just get in touch, we’ll be happy to talk it through.
How do I get a place at the Centre?
You can be referred by a social worker, health professional or family member, or you can contact us directly. We’ll have a chat about your needs and send you a referral form to complete.
Can I come just one day a week?
Yes, some people attend one day a week, others come more often. We’ll work with you to find the right level of support based on your needs, goals, and funding.
Is transport provided?
We don’t provide transport directly, but we can recommend local transport providers who are experienced in supporting people with mobility or additional needs. Many of our clients use community transport schemes, private providers, or arrange transport through their care package. If you’re unsure where to start, we’re happy to help you explore your options.
What kind of support will I get?
We offer a mix of group activities and one-to-one support tailored to you. This could include cognitive exercises, emotional support, life skills, creative sessions and more, all planned with your personal goals in mind.
Is lunch provided?
We don’t provide lunch, but we do offer warm drinks and snacks throughout the day, and we’re happy to accommodate any dietary requirements. Many clients choose to bring their own food, and we also run daily cooking sessions where you can get involved in preparing meals if you’d like to, it’s a great way to build skills and confidence in the kitchen.
Can I visit before deciding?
Absolutely. You’re welcome to come for a visit, meet the team, and see what the Centre is like before committing to anything. We want you to feel comfortable and informed.
Is the building accessible?
Yes, the Centre is fully accessible, with level access, a lift between floors, wide doorways, adapted toilets and quiet spaces for anyone who needs a low-arousal environment.
How is it funded?
Many people attend through local authority funding, NHS support or personal budgets. We can talk you through your options and help with any paperwork.
Do I have to join in with everything?
Not at all. Everything is optional. You’re free to take part in as much or as little as you like. Our team will work with you to create a plan that suits your energy, interests and comfort levels.
